Integrated Master Plan and Integrated Master Schedule Preparation and Use Guide, October 2005
This document provides guidance to government and industry on the preparation and implementation of a program’s Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). The primary purpose of the IMP and its supporting detailed schedule, the IMS, is their use as day-to-day tools for planning, executing, and tracking program technical, schedule, and cost status, including risk mitigation efforts.
The intention of this guide is to provide a consistent philosophy and approach to the IMP and IMS. It discusses the development and implementation of the IMP (events, accomplishments, and criteria) and IMS as well as identifying linkages to other program management activities including risk/opportunity management, systems engineering, and EVM.
